Leipzig - Train stopped because of allegedly suspicious person

A regional train was stopped in Leipzig on Tuesday afternoon due to a possible dangerous situation. The Federal Police had been informed by an anonymous caller about a person on the train who was "holding a trigger in his hand", said spokesman Jens Damrau. However, the suspicion of danger was not confirmed.

The train was stopped at the Rückmarsdorf stop. The police arrived with numerous officers and searched the train. Around 120 passengers were also asked about the suspicious person. However, this was unsuccessful, said Damrau. A more detailed description of the person would not be given for tactical reasons.

The train was then able to continue its journey towards Leipzig Central Station. According to Damrau, the Federal Police have started an investigation into the faking of a criminal offense.
