The man aged 32 is currently being interrogated for attempted murder and aggravated assault. He will be transferred to the Saarbrücken Justice Detention Center for detention prior to trial. The investigation into the case is ongoing.

A 32-year-old male is alleged to have attacked a 21-year-old man on a train with a knife on Monday evening, severely injuring him, although not life-threateningly. The victim sustained a stab wound to the neck. Initial medical treatment was provided by federal police officers, following which he was transported to a hospital for surgery.

The suspect handed himself over at the Saarbrücken main train station on the same evening and was apprehended by police.
