Train service interrupted - Train-car collision results in track shutdown.
In the afternoon, a collision took place between a local train and a car at Eggesin, leading to a halt in train services to and from Ueckermunde until the evening. The German Railway shared the news of the affected trains on their schedule website.
The incident at Pasewalk Police Department's crossing showed the regional train rubbing against a car carrying one person around 3:00 p.m. It is suspected that the car unexpectedly moved forward since the driver might have accidentally disconnected the coupling. There were no injuries reported, whether from the train passengers or the car driver.
The train passengers had the option to travel using a substitute bus, while the affected train reached a storage track in Pasewalk as a vacant train. The tracks were temporarily shut down through the emergency command center.

Due to the collision, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania experienced a disruption in train traffic through Pasewalk. The road closure near the incident site further complicated the situation, causing delays in car travel as well. German Railways worked diligently to reroute trains and provide passengers with alternative modes of transportation.
As a result of the collision, the railroad authorities initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the accident and prevent similar occurrences in the future. Following the investigation, the police issued warnings about the importance of obeying traffic rules and train safety regulations.
Although no injuries were reported, the police urged commuters to exercise caution while traveling, as traffic congestion in Pasewick and Ueckermunde may prolong their journey times. The authorities advised travelers to check the updated schedule on German Railways' website for the most accurate information regarding their trains.
