Forest near Rothenberg - Trailer with bee hives resolve police operation

People going hunting must be vigilant. A suspicious incident triggered a police operation in a wooded area near Rothenberg (Landkreis Sömmerda). According to the Sömmerda Police Department, hunters alerted officers about a supposed Jeep in the hunting grounds near Rothenberg, as they suspected poachers. In heavy rain and complete darkness, the situation could be clarified. However, the vehicle in question turned out to be an abandoned trailer with beehives, which from a distance resembled the outline of a SUV. The beekeeper likely forgot to inform the hunters, it was stated. Several patrol cars were involved in the operation, according to the police.

Despite the false alarm, the hunters' vigilance led to the involvement of Thuringia's police in a hunt for potential poachers. The police operation, however, yielded an unexpected finding – an abandoned trailer with beehives mistaken for a Jeep in the hunting grounds.
