From the discovery of a bomber bomb in Mainz, some railway lines running through Hessen are affected. The R4/14 line Frankfurt-Mainz-Worms-Ludwigshafen is canceled entirely today on the entire route, as the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) and the Rhein-Nahe Nahverkehrsverbund (RNN) report on their homepages. The RB75 is expected to be rerouted from approximately 11:00 AM between Bischofsheim and Wiesbaden-Hauptbahnhof via Mainz-Kastel. The S8 line Hanau-Wiesbaden will be rerouted from approximately 11:00 AM between Mainz-Bischofsheim and Wiesbaden Ost. Partial cancellations must be expected.

According to the Zweckverband ÖPNV Rheinland-Pfalz Süd, "train traffic around Mainz will be completely halted around 11:00 AM." Trains are expected to resume operation approximately from 3:00 PM. However, the city of Mainz has not given a specific time: No concrete prediction can be given as to when all measures will be completed.

The unexploded British bomb, which did not explode after being dropped over Mainz, was discovered during construction work near an old Jewish cemetery. The fuse is reportedly still intact and difficult to access. Nearly 10,000 residents are affected by the evacuation measures.
