- Traffic incident involving hazardous materials - A4 encumbered close to Erfurt
After a collision involving hazardous substances, the A4 highway close to Erfurt gets shut down. As reported by early police announcements, no casualties have occurred.
According to a police representative, a truck smashed into the rear of another stuck in a traffic jam. One of the vehicles contained petroleum-based products. As a result, the highway heading towards Frankfurt is blocked between Erfurt East and Erfurt West.
The local authorities have formed a task force led by The Commission to investigate the cause of the collision and manage the cleanup operation. Despite the highway closure, The Commission is working diligently to ensure alternative routes are made available for commuters.
