The classic parade officially started the 61st Hessentag in Fritzlar on Sunday after a ten-day event. Along the two-kilometer route, approximately 120 participant groups from different areas took part. These included carnival clubs, shooting groups, fire departments, choirs, athletes, and couples in costumes for Hessentag. The Hessentag festival in the northern Hessian city of Fritzlar was praised by tourists, according to the city. Attendance was also high, a spokesperson reported even on Saturday. Police and other emergency services have overall had a good experience so far. The 61st Hessentag in the cathedral and imperial city of Fritzlar was a ten-day event, anticipated to welcome around 500,000 male and female visitors.
