Authorities Probe Fatal Incident Involving Teen on Rügen Horse Ride
Following the unfortunate incident where a 14-year-old girl lost her life after being struck by an agricultural vehicle while horseback riding on a rural path in Rügen, the authorities are in the process of investigating the incident, aided by a technical expert. The tragedy unfolded when the girl was tragically run over by the agricultural vehicle.
The teenage girl was alongside other budding equestrians near Bubkevitz when a farm tractor towing a cultivator came from behind. A cultivator is a farming device employed to loosen soil, eliminate weeds, and prepare the seedbed.
Upon the tractor's close approach to the group, the 14-year-old's horse became spooked, causing the girl to fall off. Despite the tractor driver's 26-year-old best efforts to avoid her, the cultivator inadvertently struck the young girl, leaving her with critical injuries that proved fatal at the scene. The criminal police and a DEKRA employee are currently probing the incident.
