Agriculture - Tractor demo obstructs traffic in Salzwedel
Around 40 farmers have demonstrated with their tractors against the German government's decision to cut subsidies and partially paralyzed traffic in Salzwedel. As the police announced on Monday, it was initially a registered assembly. In the course of the afternoon, some tractors blocked a traffic circle unannounced, causing severe disruption. Last week, farmers had already demonstrated against the federal government in Magdeburg. With its decisions to reach an agreement in the budget dispute, the government cut subsidies for agricultural diesel and tax exemptions for agricultural vehicles, among other things.
