Track worker hit by train: Serious injuries
A track worker was hit and seriously injured by a regional train in the Bad Kreuznach district on Thursday night. There is no danger to life, said a spokesman for the federal police. The 26-year-old was thrown 30 meters through the air and landed on a track; he suffered serious head injuries and was taken to a clinic. The train driver had initiated emergency braking shortly before the accident near Kirn station; he and the two passengers on the train suffered no physical injuries. The railroad line was closed for around two hours.
The track worker's accident at the railroad resulted in serious injuries and a temporary closure of the line. Despite the proximity of the incident, the train driver and passengers remained unharmed.
