Tourist sustains severe injuries after accidental fall into a water pit.

A seventy-two-year-old female individual is treading along a circular path in the Bavarian Alps when she unfortunately trips and tumbles into a nearby mountain watercourse. Authorities dispatch a helicopter for her rescue.

A hiker from Baden-Württemberg took an unexpected plunge into a water pit in the Berchtesgaden Alps, resulting in severe injuries. The 72-year-old was airlifted to a hospital by helicopter, as reported by the Bavarian Red Cross. The unfortunate incident saw the woman falling approximately 15 meters into a pool situated within a mountain stream, and then being dragged another 20 meters.

A fellow hiker made the emergency call. A rescue team member and a paramedic were lowered into the ravine to attend to the woman using a helicopter, while other rescue team members rappelled down.

The rescuers needed a helicopter to quickly transport the injured hiker to the hospital. Upon arrival at the scene, they lowered a team member and a paramedic into the ravine using the helicopter.
