Cycling - Tour de France organizer takes over Hamburg Cyclassics
Tour de France organizer ASO has taken over the organization of the Hamburg Cyclassics one-day cycling race. The company made the announcement on Monday. Germany is one of ASO's most important areas, CEO Yann Le Moënner was quoted as saying.
This means that in addition to the Eschborn-Frankfurt classic, the other German World Tour race is now also in the hands of the ASO spin-off Gesellschaft zur Förderung des Radsports. The Gfr also organizes the Deutschland Tour.
The next Cyclassics are scheduled for September 8th. The sprinters dominate the race. This year, the Danish former world champion Mads Pedersen won. The cycling event was held for the first time in 1996.

This shift in management highlights ASO's growing influence in Germany, considered one of their key regions, according to CEO Yann Le Moënner. As the Tour de France organizer expands its reach, the world-renowned Cyclassics in Hamburg joins their stable of events, including the Eschborn-Frankfurt classic and the Deutschland Tour.
