Tottenham to retain Werner according to new loan agreement.

It's unlikely that Timo Werner will rejoin RB Leipzig, but he won't necessarily abandon them for good.

According to reports, Timo Werner is set to continue his loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur, with negotiations underway for an extension until the end of June 2025. This move would keep the transfer fee of 17 million euros as an option for Leipzig. While the English club is keen to secure the German international, Leipzig is less happy about the deal since they had hoped to attract interest in Werner during his time at Spurs.

Moreover, Leipzig needs to generate a transfer surplus this summer and relies on buyout clauses for their loaned players. Werner made 13 appearances in the Premier League but missed the last five games due to a thigh injury.

Meanwhile, another Leipzig player, Angelino, appears to be heading to AS Roma. The Spanish left-back's move is expected to cost around five million euros, payable in installments. Leipzig has also loaned out striker Andre Silva to San Sebastián and midfielder Ilaix Moriba to FC Getafe.

Meanwhile, Leipzig could be gaining two players from KRC Genk. Bilal El Khannouss, a 20-year-old midfielder, confirmed to Het Nieuwsblad that he intends to move this summer. "I'd prefer Germany. It would be viable and nice, together with Maarten," he said. Goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt, who has been linked with Leipzig, has also agreed to join them on July 1 from Genk for a rumored fee of ten million euros. Vandevoordt has been gaining experience at his youth club, but is now set to make the move to the Bundesliga.
