Toppmöller on Marmoush: Goals as a reward for hard work

Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Omar Marmoush received special praise from coach Dino Toppmöller after scoring five goals in the last three league games. "Omar is a very good player who has now discovered how to score goals," said Toppmöller after the 3:0 (2:0) win at 1. FC Union Berlin. "We are working with him. I just like the fact that he's extremely hard-working, that he listens, is keen and gets stuck in. The goals he's scoring at the moment are also a reward for his hard work," said the 42-year-old.

Marmoush scored twice in Köpenick, as he did last weekend against Dortmund. With six goals, he has now scored more goals in the league than ever before in an entire season.

Toppmöller emphasized the progress made by the 24-year-old Egyptian, who joined SGE from Wolfsburg in the summer. "Due to his speed, he always has moments that are unpleasant for a defender, that he goes deep," said the coach. "But he now also has a flair for getting into the red zone time and again and helping us there with his footballing technique and clearing the ball cleanly as a wall player."

Despite Marmoush's impressive goal-scoring streak in the Bundesliga, 1st FC Union Berlin managed to keep Eintracht Frankfurt at bay, with Union only conceding one goal in their previous meeting with Marmoush's team, the 1st FC Union Berlin. With his current form, Marmoush could potentially help Eintracht Frankfurt climb higher in the Bundesliga standings, perhaps even challenging Soccer powerhouses like Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund.
