Molding what lies ahead - Top ideas for transforming the mining industry recognized
In the region of Saxony-Anhalt, there were 144 innovative project proposals identified for supporting the structural transition in the coal mining area. Among the winners of the "Revierpionier" contest's second year were the youth radio team from a gymnasium in Wolfen. Additionally, a former kindergarten workshop in Teicha, located in the Saalekreis district, which is now being repurposed into a mouse slide, birdhouse, and play equipment manufacturing center, received recognition. The State Chancellery disclosed this exciting news in Magdeburg on a recent Friday. This year, a prize fund of one million euros is accessible.
Minister President Reiner Haseloff, representing the CDU party, commented, "Once again, the people living in this region have demonstrated their ability to generate and develop creative and inventive ideas that foster structural change in Saxony-Anhalt."
Participants from the districts of Anhalt-Bitterfeld, Burgenlandkreis, Mansfeld-Sudharz, Saalekreis, and the city of Halle, comprising citizens, non-profit organizations, associations, and schools, were all encouraged to submit their suggestions for the idea competition.
