The company - Too few people with disabilities employed
Three quarters of the Saxon companies obliged to do so employed people with disabilities in 2021. Of these, however, only 39 percent fulfilled their obligation and employed enough people with disabilities, as the Federal Employment Agency announced on Friday.
Companies with 20 or more employees are obliged to fill at least five percent of their jobs with people with severe disabilities or their equivalents. The 2021 statistics show that around 36 percent of companies hired people with disabilities, but did not meet their target of five percent. Around 25 percent of the obligated companies did not employ any people with disabilities.
More than half of the companies in Saxony paid a compensatory levy for every job not filled by people with disabilities each month. In a comparison of the last ten years, the employment of people with disabilities was at its second-highest level in 2021. In total, more than 46,000 people with severe disabilities or equivalent were employed in Saxony in 2021.
