Titz calls for "better exploitation of chances" against Hansa
After seven games without a win, 1. FC Magdeburg are under a lot of pressure in their clash against Hansa Rostock. After advancing in the DFB Cup after a penalty shoot-out at Holstein Kiel and the occasionally good performance at Hamburger SV (0:2), head coach Christian Titz wants to build on the "good performances.
Up front, however, we will certainly have to make better use of our chances. We have to concede even fewer defensive goals and be much more consistent up front," said Titz ahead of this Sunday's Bundesliga 2 match (1.30pm/Sky) against the Hanseatic side, who have won just one of their last eight games.
2,400 fans are expected from the north, the Magdeburg MDCC-Arena is sold out with 26,600 spectators. After a good start and an interim dry spell, Magdeburg are in 13th place, directly ahead of Hansa. "Both teams need a sense of achievement," said Hansa coach Alois Schwartz. There are some parallels between the two clubs. Coach Jens Härtel first led Magdeburg (2018) and then Rostock (2021) to the second division.
- Despite their advancement in the DFB Cup and a decent performance against Hamburger SV, 1st FC Magdeburg's coach, Christian Titz, emphasizes the need to enhance their goal-scoring efficiency in Bundesliga 2, particularly against Hansa Rostock in Bundesliga 2's next match.
- As they prepare for the Bundesliga 2 match against 1. FC Magdeburg, Hansa Rostock's coach, Alois Schwartz, acknowledges the parallels between the two clubs, with both teams needing a win for a much-needed boost, given their respective positions in the league and their head coach Jens Härtel's previous tenures at both clubs.
