Triathlete Caroline Pohle clinches European crown in the half Ironman event. The 28-year-old from Leipzig ruled the Ironman 70.3 competition in Tallinn, wrapping up in less than four hours (3:59:40), covering the 1.9km swim, 90km bike, and 21.1km run. She had a tough moment at the finish line, dropping to her knees and covering her face with her hands.
Pohle was in the driver's seat from the get-go, eventually edging out former Ironman World Championship runner-up Katrina Matthews for the second spot.
In the men's division, Leonard Arnold from Sauerland claimed the runner-up spot, finishing in 3:36:35, a mere 35 seconds behind the Greek champion, Panagiotis Bitados. Justus Nieschlag ended up in fifth place.
