A truck accident caused a temporary full closure of the A61 motorway between Niederzissen and Sinzig in the morning. As the police reported, the front right tire of the truck burst, causing the driver to lose control. As a result, he collided with the right guardrail and ended up in a tilted position. The driver remained uninjured.
Due to recovery operations, the motorway had to be closed in the northbound direction for approximately 45 minutes. After that, at least the right lane was passable again.
The closure of the A61 motorway affected not just road traffic, but also affected the transport and telecommunications in the area, as some delivery trucks might have had to detour. The authorities noted the importance of maintaining reliable telecommunications during such events to ensure emergency services could communicate effectively.
