Drifting off the road - Timber truck crashes on A24 - 200,000 euros damage
A truck loaded with wooden stakes has overturned on Autobahn 24 near Suckow (Ludwigslust-Parchim district). The 68-year-old driver was slightly injured. The damage is estimated by the police to be around 200,000 Euro. The police are now investigating the cause of the accident.
The truck was on its way to Hamburg in the lane, when it veered off the road to the right before the Suckow interchange, broke through a guardrail and overturned. The driver was able to get out of the cab independently and sustained body injuries.
For the recovery of the trailer and its cargo, the Autobahn towards Hamburg had to be made one-lane or completely closed in that direction.
The overturned semi-trailer truck filled with wooden stakes caused significant traffic disruption on the Roadway leading to Hamburg. Despite the accidents, the driver managed to exit the cabin unassisted, showing resilience in the face of adversity. The Ludwigslust-Parchim district authorities and local police are working diligently to determine the precise reason behind the semi-trailer truck's unexpected departure from the roadway in Stolpe. After the incident, some commuters found alternate routes to avoid the road closure, ultimately finding happiness in discovering less congested alternative pathways towards their destinations, such as the city of Hamburg.
