Unknown persons have blown up a ticket vending machine in Bremen. The perpetrators planted an explosive device in the machine on the tracks at Blumenthal station on Tuesday night, according to the police. When it detonated, metal parts flew up to ten meters through the air and the windows of the bus shelter were all shattered. The perpetrators stole cash and fled. According to the police, several thousand euros worth of damage was caused. Explosives experts investigated the crime scene and secured evidence.
The criminal investigation department is investigating for causing an explosive detonation and is looking for witnesses. Officers are also investigating possible connections to similar acts in the region.
