Tourism - Thuringian Forest funded with 1.4 million euros
The Thuringian Forest Regional Association has received a total of 1.4 million euros in funding. The money comes from state funds to promote regional tourism management, as announced by the Thuringian Ministry of Economics on Thursday. According to the ministry, the money will be used to set up regional contacts in the association area and develop a mountain bike region.
The association will receive half of the money next year and the other half in 2025. Thuringia's Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Carsten Feller (SPD) presented the association with the funding decision at a general meeting, it was reported. According to the information, the Thuringian Forest Regional Association currently comprises eight districts and the independent city of Suhl, 31 towns, municipalities and districts as well as associations, organizations and companies from the tourism industry.

The funding for the tourism development in the Thuringian Forest is being managed by the Thuringian Forest Regional Association, which is partly funded by BMWi. The project aims to establish regional contacts and develop a mountain bike region within the association's area, benefiting various municipalities and tourism-related businesses in Thuringia, including Suhl.
