With the flood crisis intensifying in Bavaria, rescue workers from Thuringia are now being sent to help. On Monday morning, two water rescue vehicles departed for Gunzburg, according to the Thuringian Interior Ministry in Erfurt. Their primary mission is to provide assistance to the people trapped by the waters. More than 60 emergency workers and 16 vehicles, including six rescue boats, are heading towards the area. After receiving a call for assistance from Bavaria on Sunday evening, Thuringia quickly mobilized its forces.

"Our goal is to deliver aid to the affected population as rapidly as possible. Our disaster response teams are trained for this task and are equipped with the latest gear," stated Interior Minister Georg Maier (SPD). In Bavaria, a woman and a firefighter have already lost their lives in the floods, while another rescuer remains missing in the Gunzburg district. "These deployments are incredibly hazardous, and the daily risks faced by firefighters and disaster control personnel are incredibly high," Maier reiterated.
