Weather - Thunderstorms spoil bathing fun in outdoor pools

Rising showers and thunderstorms over Berlin disrupted bathing at open-air pools on Thursday. A spokesperson for Berlin's bathing establishments confirmed, upon request, that guests were asked to leave the pools at Neukölln Baths and the Insulaner temporarily. No new guests were allowed into the Neukölln Baths. The German Weather Service (DWD) had forecasted hot, humid weather with temperatures up to 31 degrees and strong thunderstorms starting from noon on Thursday.

Despite the promising weather forecast for leisure time activities, including the use of the outdoor pool at Neukölln Baths, a sudden thunderstorm interrupted bathing fun. The unexpected emergencies resulted in the evacuation of guests from both Neukölln Baths and the Insulaner pool. Regrettably, even under clearer weather conditions, re-entry into Neukölln Baths was not permitted due to the previous incident.
