Expect thunderstorms, heavy rain, and gusts of wind in Thuringia in the afternoon and evening. On Thursday, it will initially be dry and warm with temperatures up to 29°C in the lowlands and up to 26°C in the mountains, as reported by the German Weather Service.

The risk of thunderstorms will increase in the mountains in the afternoon, with local heavy rain and gusts of wind possible. Isolated severe weather events, such as heavy rain with up to 40 liters per square meter, are also possible.

Rain will move in overnight Thursday into Friday, with some areas experiencing heavier showers and thunderstorms. Localized flooding from prolonged heavy rain is a risk. Temperatures will drop to around 14°C.

Friday is expected to be rainy, with temperatures up to 24°C in the lowlands and up to 21°C in the mountains.

The following weather advisory warns of increased risk of thunderstorms in the mountains in the afternoon. The German Weather Service has also issued a warning for isolated severe weather events, such as heavy rain with up to 40 liters per square meter.
