Weather - Thunderstorms and gales trigger hundreds of firefighting operations
Thunderstorm and storm caused hundreds of interventions for the fire departments in Brandenburg on Saturday evening. The regional control rooms reported uprooted and uprooted trees. Heavy winds caused damage in southern Brandenburg, the fire departments had to be called out: 150 interventions took place in the districts of Dahme-Spreewald and Oberspreewald-Lausitz. Trees fell on cars and also on porches, it was reported from the regional control room in Cottbus.
Also in the districts of Havelland and Ostprignitz-Ruppin, numerous trees and branches could not withstand the wind. The regional control room in the northwest reported a total of 108 interventions. Of the 97 "typical thunderstorm interventions," the regional control room in Brandenburg an der Havel reported, which covers the city and the districts of Potsdam-Mittelmark and Teltow-Flaming.
