Young individuals or people in their formative years. - Three young wolves identified in Neuhaus
In the vicinity of Neuhaus am Rennweg, under the governance of Sonneberg, a wolf duo has expanded their family. For the first time within this domain, three lupine pups have been spotted in images, revealed the Environment Ministry. These images were authenticated as legitimate proof of wolves by both the Thuringia Wolf/Badger/Lynx Expert Centre and the Federal Wolf Documentation Centre.
Consequently, this territory now transitions from being a 'duo' territory to a 'pack' territory. Thuringia houses another wolf pack, situated in Ohrdruf, under Gotha's district. In the Ilfeld region, which falls under Nordhausen's district in the South Harz, a new pair has been identified and confirmed. The Environment Ministry expectantly estimates the total wolf population in the state to range between 15 to 20 individuals.
Wolves in Germany are tightly guarded and can only be hunted under uncommon circumstances. Yet, numerous disputes arise in various regions as farmers complain about financial losses due to wolf encounters.
The wolf duo, now a pack, continues to call Neuhaus am Rennweg home. In adjacent regions, farmers often confront these expansive wolf families, leading to disputes due to potential financial losses.
