Three-year-old hit by mail truck - seriously injured

A three-year-old girl was seriously injured in Borna when she was hit by a postal vehicle. Police are now investigating for reckless bodily harm.

A three-year-old girl was struck by a small postal van in Borna, south of Leipzig, and severely injured. The girl suddenly ran onto the road on Monday afternoon, police reported. The 59-year-old driver was unable to brake in time and hit the girl.

Emergency services took the girl to a hospital. Police are investigating the incident as a case of negligent bodily harm.

The investigating police are trying to gather evidence regarding the incident. The responsible authorities have increased patrols in the area to ensure road safety.
