- Three injured in accident in Saarland
An Incident in Saarland has left three people injured, two severely. As reported by the police, the incident occurred in the afternoon on the state road 127 between Fischbach and Quierschied. Preliminary investigations suggest that a 24-year-old lost control of his vehicle in a slight left curve, veering off his lane and crossing over to the opposite lane, eventually ending up in the median. He then attempted to correct his course back onto the opposite lane, where he collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by a 37-year-old woman. Her 17-year-old son was also in the car.
The impact was so severe that the engine block of the 24-year-old's vehicle was torn out. The other vehicle was also significantly damaged. Both the 24-year-old and the 17-year-old were taken to the hospital with severe but non-life-threatening injuries. The 37-year-old driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries and did not require medical treatment. The road had to be closed for approximately three hours during cleanup. Investigations into the cause of the incident are ongoing, and the 24-year-old is expected to face charges of reckless endangerment.
The incident on the state road 127 resulted in several vehicles being involved in accidents. Despite the severe damage to the vehicles and injuries sustained, thankfully, no fatalities occurred.
