A19 - Three injured after fire in Swedish coach

Three people were injured, one of them seriously, in a fire in a Swedish coach on highway 19 in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on Thursday evening. As the police reported on Thursday night, passengers noticed smoke coming from the bus's toilet while the bus was traveling before the Röbel junction (Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district).

A 73-year-old Swede, who was in the toilet at the time, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. Two 76 and 63-year-old bus passengers suffered minor injuries. The police are investigating on suspicion of negligent arson. The bus was impounded. 40 bus passengers were accommodated in a nearby shelter for the night.
