On a federal highway close to Kandel, in the Germersheim district, there was a crash involving two vehicles. This incident, as shared by the authorities, led to a man enduring severe wounds. Apart from him, two other people experienced minor injuries during the incident that took place on a Friday evening. According to the latest findings, the severely injured driver veered into the opposing lane, resulting in a head-on collision with the other vehicle.

Investigators propose that the 50-year-old driver may have dozed off behind the wheel, resulting in his vehicle drifting into the wrong lane. A criminal probe has been launched. The wounded individuals were taken to medical facilities. Additionally, an air ambulance was dispatched. The road was momentarily shut down in both directions.

The accident on the federal highway near Kandel resulted in a 50-year-old man requiring extensive medical treatment due to severe injuries. The incident also led to a criminal investigation into potential driver negligence.
