Following the lethal knife attack during Solingen's 650th anniversary celebration, causing three deaths, the count of severely injured victims has climbed to five. The suspect remains at large, as stated by a police representative. "At present, we are devoid of any information regarding his whereabouts," he mentioned.

According to a spokesperson of NRW's Interior Ministry, the perpetrator swooped away in the disorder and initial fear that ensued post the attack. The victims were purposely targeted with stabs to their necks. They were all festival attendees.

A police representative recommended: Should you come across any suspicious activity, refrain from taking matters into your own hands, but rather dial 110, the emergency number.

The Wuppertal police dispensed this message via Facebook, advising people to avoid Solingen's city center.

The police no longer categorized the attack as a rampage, but as an assault. The calculated method of the offender supports this classification. In the meantime, NRW Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU) arrived at the crime scene in the dead of night.
