Three individuals from the Hamburg HSV's administrative team decide to step down.

The concluding phase of the Hanseatic city's handball intraligist's review from the previous months has been finalized. Three out of the four presidency members, including the previous coach, have decided to step down from their positions.

Over at the Handball Bundesliga club HSV Hamburg, three key figures in the presidency decided to call it quits. According to the club's announcement, President Marc Evermann, Vice President Martin Schwalb, and Treasurer Stephan Harzer have decided to step down. The club explained that their departure is intended to pave the way for fresh perspectives. Sven Hielscher is the only one still holding a position in the presidency.

This development is directly linked to the club's recent happenings. HSV Hamburg only managed to secure its Bundesliga license for the 2024/25 season in the beginning of June. Evermann and former coach Schwalb were instrumental in reviving the club following its bankruptcy in January 2016.

"Without the hard work of our presidency, Handball Sport Verein Hamburg wouldn't be in its current state. Moreover, professional handball in Hamburg might not exist at all," commented Wilken Moeller, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The supervisory board is planning to select a new presidency shortly. HSV Hamburg's new campaign kickstarts on September 6 against Frisch Auf Goepingen.
