Three attacks in a short space of time - man injures police officer

A man is said to have attacked and injured federal police officers in Karlsruhe three times in just two days. Before the attacks, the man first attracted attention because of something else.

Bite and attack with cutter - Three attacks in a short space of time - man injures police officer

After he had already injured four officers, a 36-year-old man attacked two more Federal Police officers in Karlsruhe and injured them with a cutter knife, according to the Federal Police. The man first appeared on Friday when he touched an eight-year-old boy's shoulder at the train station. He was given a warning for this.

Shortly afterwards, he wanted to return and allegedly aggressively approached the officers. When they used "simple physical force" against him, the 36-year-old man bit one of the officers in the hand. Three other policemen were reportedly injured by cuts.

Later that night, the man was caught riding the train without a ticket. He threatened the alerted Federal Police officers with death when they ordered him off the train. When they removed him using "simple physical force," the 36-year-old man allegedly attacked them with a cutter knife multiple times. One policeman was lightly injured on the head, arm, and hand, and a female officer was injured on the leg. The attack was only stopped after the use of pepper spray.

When the attacker was free again the next morning, he rode the train to Mannheim without a ticket. During a control, he grabbed a policeman unexpectedly by the arm. The officers then brought the man to the ground, handcuffed him, and temporarily detained him. He now has to answer for the suspicion of assault and resistance against execution officers.
