Three arrests after series of luxury car thefts

Crime - Three arrests after series of luxury car thefts

After a series of thefts of luxury cars throughout the entire federal territory, three men have been arrested. The suspects, aged 29, 34, and 36, were arrested immediately after the theft of a luxury car in Wiesbaden by a Mobile Response Team, as the Düsseldorf Prosecutor's Office and Police announced.

The accused are believed to be part of a gang responsible for the theft of eight high-end vehicles throughout the entire federal territory, according to investigations. The group is said to have committed the thefts in different compositions in Duesseldorf, Cologne, Mulheim an der Ruhr, Warendorf, Bielefeld, Braunschweig, Mannheim, and Wiesbaden, causing a total damage of around 1.5 million Euro.

Cooperation between Germany and Poland

The investigations, which were initiated in April, began with the theft of a luxury car in Duesseldorf. Through secured traces and the exchange of information between the German and Polish police forces, evidence of a Polish criminal group emerged. This group is said to specialize in the theft of high-value vehicles and is also believed to have used a residence in the Rhineland as a base for reconnaissance missions.

A warrant for the arrest of the three Polish suspects has been issued and executed. The investigations are ongoing. For each case of serious gang theft, the law provides for a prison sentence of one to ten years.

  1. The three men, arrested in Wiesbaden, hail from North Rhine-Westphalia, according to the police.
  2. The Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor's Office is now handling the case of the stolen luxury car and the alleged gang members.
  3. The Mobile Task Force, a specialized unit of the police, was instrumental in apprehending the suspects during the theft of a luxurious vehicle in Wiesbaden.
  4. The suspects' vehicles of choice in their string of thefts were high-end luxury cars, primarily from brands known for their elegance and high value.
  5. The Mobile Task Force has been deployed in different parts of Hesse, including Wiesbaden, to prevent and investigate similar crimes involving luxury cars.
  6. The suspects are being charged with a series of crimes under Germany's law on theft, including the theft of luxury vehicles in various cities across the federal territory.
