Demonstration - Thousands protest against right-wing extremism in Munich.

Thousands of people gathered in Munich on Saturday to protest against right-wing extremism in a peaceful event as part of the European elections. Organized by a coalition of civil society organizations in several German cities, including Stuttgart, there were approximately 10,000 registered participants, while the police counted around 5,000 attendees.

The purpose of the demonstration was to show support for a democratic, open, and diverse society, emphasizing peace, freedom, diversity, human rights, human dignity, economic security, and social justice. The group expressed their concerns about how these values are being threatened by the AfD and other right-wing extremists.

Over the past several months, Germany has witnessed numerous protests against right-wing extremism and racism. The protests were initiated following the expose by Correctiv media house about a meeting in Potsdam in November, which included politicians from the AfD and the conservative CDU andValue Union.

In January, over 100,000 people gathered in Munich for a protest, but it had to be canceled due to overcrowding.
