Colorful - Thousands of bikers expected at the Harley Days parade
The Hamburg Harley Days will come to an end this Sunday with a large parade. The convoy will set off at 2:00 pm. Last year, around 5000 bikes participated. Motorcycle enthusiasts will roll out with their heavy machines from the market square and over the Veddel and the Köhlbrandbridge into the heart of the harbor, as the organizers announced. The route goes back over the Freeport Bridge through the HafenCity, past the landing bridges and the Fish Market, over the Reeperbahn to the market square. Last year, around 5000 motorcycle fans took part in the parade on the 30-kilometer long route.
Since Friday afternoon, there has been a colorful program for fans of legendary US motorcycles with a lot of music, stunt shows, and a Grill-Landesmeisterschaft. In addition, visitors and guests could get tattoos from around 20 tattoo artists at the first tattoo days held at the event.
The organizers of the Harley Days, which have been located on the market square since 2010, urged motorcycle fans to consider the population. In the past, there have been complaints about noise levels. The environmental organization Nabu called on the red-green Senate to abandon environmentally and climate-damaging large events like the Harley Days.
