Estimated at approximately 24,000 attendees, the "Fest für Europa" was put together by the state government, the city, and the Hanover region, with over 40 organizations, associations, and initiatives for Europe showcasing their support. The festivities were jam-packed with music, dancing, interactive activities, stage performances, and discussions.

"Through this festival, we could display once more that Europe is not just an abstract concept miles away but an integral part of our lives in Lower Saxony," expressed SPD's European Minister, Wiebke Osigus.

During the celebration, participants from the various institutions endorsed the "Hanover Declaration for a Diverse and Democratic Europe" by signing it. The European Minister, the region's president, the Hanover mayor, and the Metropolitan Region's management team urged voters to make their voices heard in the European election on June 9, which would act as a "powerful statement" for a democratic and diverse Europe.
