Middle East conflict - Thousands expected at pro-Palestinian demonstrations
Due to the ongoing war in Gaza, pro-Palestinian groups have registered two demonstrations with thousands of participants for Saturday (14.00) in Berlin. Under the title "Stop the genocide in Gaza", 2500 people plan to march through Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg in the afternoon, according to the police.
At the same time, a demonstration with 3000 people under the title "Solidarity with Palestine" is to start at Oranienplatz in Kreuzberg in the direction of Schlesisches Tor and Puschkinallee. There will also be a vigil against anti-Semitism in Brunnenstraße in the afternoon.
Since the bloody attack on Israel by the terrorist organization Hamas on 7 October and the Israeli counter-offensive, there have been repeated expressions of solidarity with one side or the other of the conflict in Berlin. Some pro-Palestinian demonstrations have led to clashes and banned slogans.
