People - Thomas Gottschalk and Karina Mroß are engaged
Thomas Gottschalk and his partner Karina Mroß are engaged. "Before I accidentally blab it out, or before the wrong people make it a big deal, I'm announcing it myself: Yes, I have gotten engaged," the 74-year-old entertainer told the "Bild" newspaper. He also reported the engagement on his Instagram profile. Mroß and Gottschalk have been a couple for five years.
In May, Gottschalk had separated from his long-term wife Thea. The two had already been living apart since 2019. It was recently reported that Gottschalk and Mroß want to move from Baden-Baden to Grafelfing, southwest of Munich.
The proposal, as the former "Wetten, dass..?" moderator told the "Bild", "took place during a relaxed spa trip in the sun". "While I was already practicing the knee-bend – my biggest concern was not being able to get back up – I realized that the engagement ring was missing. I had forgotten it in the hotel safe," he recounted. "I quickly made a ring out of bonbon paper, which I then slid over Karina's finger. She said 'yes' when I asked her if she would be my wife."
