Criminals snatched copper wires from a subterranean cable conduit in Frankenhain, Ilm district. They caused significant destruction to the building and messed up the phone network. The cops shared the news on Sunday and revealed that the robbers tore out about 80 meters of copper wire from the shaft, resulting in a problem that needs a 1.5-kilometer long wire replacement. The cops estimated the damage at roughly 20,000 euros, while the value of the stolen wire was over 6,000 euros. The service disruption due to this incident on Friday dragged on for a few hours.
