Advice from family or friends is an important decision-making aid for most people. The 2023 annual analysis shows which companies are most highly recommended by consumers.

The annual analysis "Customer Favorites - Highest Recommendation", conducted by the German Institute for Service Quality (DISQ) on behalf of ntv, shows which companies are most popular with consumers and are therefore recommended to others.

The annual analysis is based on 282,000 customer opinions on around 2,900 rated companies from numerous sectors. The evaluation in nine overarching subject areas covers numerous areas of business and life, such as career & work, banking, finance, insurance, further education, travel & tourism, internet & mobile communications and home & furnishings.

In each of the 56 individual categories, the three companies with the highest level of customer willingness to recommend are awarded. Markus Hamer, Managing Director of the German Institute for Service Quality, summarizes: "The willingness to recommend a company to others depends on very individual experiences. It is therefore de facto the quintessence of every customer contact. Our comprehensive annual analysis and the results obtained from it provide information and can be an important aid in the decision-making process of consumers."

The German Institute for Service Quality conducted a meta-analysis of the DISQ consumer surveys in 2023 with a sole focus on willingness to recommend. DISQ collected customer opinions on 2845 companies during this period. The surveys were based on the internet-based Computer Assisted Web Interviewing (CAWI) method; the willingness to recommend was surveyed on a scale with five characteristics. A total of 282,831 customer votes were taken into account; only those on which at least 80 customers had commented were considered in the individual evaluation.

The German Institute for Service Quality aims to improve service quality in Germany. To this end, the Hamburg-based market research institute conducts independent competitor analyses and customer surveys. Over 2000 trained testers are deployed throughout Germany. The research projects, which use scientifically recognized methods and service measurement procedures, are managed by a team of sociologists, economists and psychologists. The institute provides consumers with important clues for their purchasing decisions; companies gain valuable information for their own quality management.
