Statistics - There is less immigration to Bavaria
Bayern had fewer attractions for people from within and outside of the country last year. The Bavarian Statistics Office counted a total of 335,582 immigrants from abroad and 120,295 from the rest of Germany. In particular, immigration from abroad decreased significantly: it dropped by more than 108,000 – primarily because in the comparison year 2022, many people had fled from there due to the beginning of the Ukraine War.
At the same time, more people left Bayern for foreign countries. A total of 242,842 people left, which represents an increase of approximately 16,000. This resulted in a net migration gain from abroad of 92,740 people.
Fewer people came from within Germany as well.
