Theft of millions from an armored car: trio on trial

Together with his former partner and her daughter, the driver of an armored car is said to have stolen more than one million euros from the vehicle - the trio led a luxurious lifestyle. The daughter staged herself as an influencer on the internet. The pleas in the trial at Regensburg District Court are scheduled for today. The verdicts could be announced as early as this afternoon.

Investigators were on the trio's trail soon after the crime. According to the indictment, the 56-year-old driver had waited alone at the car while his two colleagues had gone into a store with a suitcase of money. When they returned, he claimed to have been robbed by masked men and gave contradictory information.

In the course of the investigation, it emerged that the 56-year-old had instead handed over a rucksack containing the loot to his partner's 28-year-old daughter. Investigators were later able to recover most of the loot. However, almost 130,000 euros remained missing.

The investigation into the armored car heist revealed that the processes of distributing the stolen money were handled within the trio, with the 56-year-old driver passing on the missing funds to his partner's daughter in OBERPFALZ. Despite efforts to hide their criminal activities, the lavish lifestyle they maintained due to the stolen funds became a key piece of evidence in the ongoing trial related to the crime in CRIME.
