Handling allegations. - Theater disagreement to be addressed during foundation board gathering
Two unsigned missives bearing severe reprimands of the managerial methods at the Eisenach and Meiningen theaters will capture the attention of the Foundation Council for each establishment. The correspondence is slated for debate at the next meeting on June 18th, as per the State Chancellery. The timetable for the meeting had remained unchanged. The State Theater Meiningen and the Land Theater Eisenach are both part of the Meiningen-Eisenach Cultural Foundation. The funding for the charitable organization is provided by the state, the city of Meiningen, the Landkreis Schmalkalden-Meiningen, the city of Eisenach, and the Wartburgkreis.
The issues detailed in the letters remained unbeknownst to the State Chancellery and the other members of the Foundation Council, the State Chancellery affirmed. Adequate attention and unbiased investigation must be given to the accusations.
Earlier in the week, on a Wednesday evening, two notifications were dispatched to media outlets, including email. Both letters were left unsigned and contained claims by theater employees. In the missive from Eisenach, the employees alleged a "toxic work environment" that had existed within the theater for years. Character assassination, power dynamics in the workplace, and underhanded dealings against employees were sources of concern. Intendant Jens Neundorff of Enzberg faced particularly strong criticism.
On Thursday, Neundorff held talks about the letters and previously mentioned plans to rebuild trust. The Meiningen Theater issued a statement corroborating these intentions.
