The Berlin Volleyball Squad secured their initial triumph in a pre-season exhibition game. Going up against fellow Brandenburg Bundesliga opponents Netzhoppers Königs Wusterhausen, the German volleyball titans clinched a 3:1 victory (25:16, 20:25, 25:21, 25:20) at the Horst-Korber-Sportzentrum. The event was played behind closed doors.

Leading scorer for the victors was Jan Fornal, recently recruited from VfB Friedrichshafen, amassing 18 points. The American Jake Hanes, who didn't play the entire match, shone on the diagonal position, contributing 14 points. Hanes, a 26-year-old, has been enlisted by the Berlin club from Polish outfit Cuprum Lubin as a replacement for the departed Marek Sotola. The Berlin team was without key players Johannes Tille (ill), Kyle Dagostino, and Moritz Reichert (both on break).

The Berlin Volleyball Squad will meet the Netzhoppers once more in their upcoming friendly match on Saturday (7:00 PM) at the Paul-Dinter-Halle in Königs Wusterhausen.
