Decisions - The theft of jewelry worth 750,000 euros leads to five and a half years in prison.

A 39-year-old guy got slapped with a five and a half-year sentence by Mannheim District Court for stealing jewelry valued at a whopping 750,000 euros in October 2023. The court spokesperson confirmed the guilty verdict for the theft involving weapons. The man and four other unknown helpers were responsible for the heist, targeting a jewelry store in Mannheim. The decision is not final until it's legally binding.

The group tactfully broke into the store, as per the court's announcement from the indictment. To make things more challenging, they used sledgehammers and smoke bombs to make it difficult to see what was going on. Fortunately, no one got hurt.

Only some of the stolen goods, such as bracelets, necklaces, and gold earrings, were recovered, according to the court announcement. The suspect was apprehended in October and has been in pre-trial detention ever since. As he had a large screwdriver on him during the robbery, he was charged with robbery with weapons.
