Antje Hochwind-Schneider, district administrator in the SPD for a long time, will continue to lead the district administration in Kyffhäuserkreis. In the final round of voting on Sunday, she secured 58.6% of the votes, as per the state electoral commission's figures.

In the recent election, AfD candidate Andreas Hartung-Schettler garnered 41.4% of the votes. Hochwind-Schneider, who is 52 years old, has led the district of Nordthuringia with approximately 74,000 residents since 2012.
