- The smell of gas is not clear: the fire brigade is searching the west of Munich

A strong gas smell in Munich's west caused a two-and-a-half-hour fire department response. A hazardous materials unit was also deployed Monday evening, as reported by the fire department. Crews inspected nearby businesses and surveyed the area, including from an aerial ladder with a remote detection system for hazardous gas clouds.

However, measurements at various locations proved inconclusive. No freight train carrying hazardous materials passed nearby, which could have been the source of the smell. The fire department still does not know where the gas smell came from.

The fire department was called to address the gas issue due to the strong smell, and their response involved firefighting techniques and equipment. Despite the thorough inspection and investigation, the fire department is yet to identify the origin of the mysterious gas smell.
