- The slight decrease in criminal activities linked to clans is being observed.

In the region of Lower Saxony, there's noticed a minor drop in offenses credited to structured criminal activity. The year prior, there were 3,610 such incidents, contrasting the 3,986 reported in 2022, as per the public statement released by the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Justice. In 2021, they registered 2,841 events of structured criminal activity.

"Intense collaboration between the police and justice system is effective and indicates we're heading in the right direction," expressed Interior Minister Daniela Behrens (SPD). "Our stance is unequivocal: The legal system will not be compromised - neither by criminal syndicate members nor by anyone else," furthered Justice Minister Kathrin Wahlmann (SPD).

Structured criminal activity accounts for less than 1% of the total documented crimes, but it poses substantial difficulties for law enforcement agencies. According to the report, instances of violent crimes and infringements on personal freedom comprise almost one-third of all cases, with 1,110 such occurrences. The bulk of these violent crimes, 631 instances, involved physical injury.

Despite the decrease in structured criminal activity-related offenses, a notable incident of murder was reported in the region last year. The gruesome incident served as a stark reminder of the persistent threat of crime, even with the reduction in organized crime activities.
